Professional Commitment:

I believe that I can effectively represent my clients only if my knowledge of the law is current and that I am aware of my clients’ individual needs and interests. My goal is to work closely with each client in order to apply the problem-solving approach that is best suited for that client’s specific situation and that client’s objectives.

As a student at the University of Dayton School of Law, I earned the Pro Bono Commitment to Community Award for my participation in various volunteer organizations, including Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, Volunteer Student Law Project, and Hispanic Law Students Association. I also received the CALI Award for Academic Excellence for my successes in the University of Dayton’s Juvenile Law Clinic. Additionally, since returning to St. Louis, I have been trained and certified as a Guardian ad Litem in domestic cases. The Guardian ad Litem training is helpful not only for cases in which I am appointed to represent the interests of a child in a contested custody case, but the knowledge gained assists me in working with clients who are parents. The development of a Parenting Plan that is appropriate for a particular family can be an important focus of a client in the representation.
